°µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ has been known for decades as a place where people find God and experience transformation into who God has made them to be. Students graduate from °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ changed forever and ready to impact the world.  Sophomore Clayton Gentry was no exception. He wanted to know how to find God and during his time at °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ he experienced God’s transformation in his life.

Clayton Gentry, a sophomore at °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ studying Pastoral Ministry, shares about his transformation since coming to °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ.

Clayton Gentry came to °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ in fall of 2019 as a Pastoral Major. Growing up in a Christian home, he knew about God but never had a personal relationship with Him until he was sixteen.

But when he came to °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ, his understanding of God changed. Classes helped develop his faith through lectures and class discussions. One-on-one conversations with professors outside of the classroom helped him to see who God really is and what a relationship with Him looks like.

“Because of °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ and God’s transformation, I have a deeper understanding of what a relationship with God looks like.”

“Now I know that a relationship with God takes a lot of dedication and intentionality. It takes work and time to develop, but it is 100% worth it.”

One of the most transformational classes for Clayton was Introduction to Pastoral Ministry, taught by Dr. Derek Brown, author of the book, ““. He credits the class for not only having great conversations but helping understand God’s calling for his life.

Also °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ’s community has helped Clayton develop his faith more. Friends at °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ slowly became like family through student events, chapels, and more. Meaningful conversations grew out of these, ones that influenced Clayton and his faith even more.

Conversations were spurred through °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ’s Family Groups, student small groups that meet weekly to invest in one another. As a leader of a Family Group, he influences his peers around him like he has been influenced.

“I have been blessed to be surrounded by other BC students who are strong believers.”

Finally, Clayton saw God change him for the better. “Looking back just recently in my life I can see God’s hand moving. I know and understand Him more than I did over a year ago. I’ve seen God’s work in my life several times during my time in college. I have seen the transformation in others by God through °µÍø½ûÇøÆƽâ°æ.”
